CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
Our CrossFit program provides a supportive community where members push each other to excel, motivate each other when it gets tough, and sometimes inspires a little healthy competition between classmates. Our members leave class exhilarated, satisfied, and pumped for the next class.
CrossFit is an Evidence-Based Fitness Program for all Fitness Levels
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. The program is driven by data. Classes include a whiteboard to keep accurate scores and records, a running clock, and rules/standards for performance. CrossFit uses the same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.
The Science of CrossFit Workouts
All of CrossFit’s workouts are based on functional movements. These are the core movements of life, found everywhere, and built naturally into our DNA. They move the largest loads the longest distances so they are ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in the shortest time (intensity).
By employing a constantly varied approach to training, these functional movements at maximum intensity (relative to the physical and psychological tolerances of the participant), lead to dramatic gains in fitness. Intensity is essential for results and is measurable as work/time. The more work you do in less time, the more intense the effort.
XLR8 recognizes that now more than ever we need to teach kids early on the importance of eating healthy and building strong bodies. With so many distractions that facilitate unhealthy eating habits and sedentary lifestyles, XLR8 has developed programs that excite kids to eat better and stay active. We also have fitness programs for young athletes that support their sport of choice by increasing flexibility and strength to enhance the movements needed to excel in their activity.

We’ve learned that harnessing the natural camaraderie, competition, and fun of sport or game yields an intensity that cannot be matched by other means. The late Col. Jeff Cooper observed that “the fear of sporting failure is worse than the fear of death.” It is our observation that men will die for points. Using whiteboards as scoreboards, keeping accurate scores and records, running a clock, and precisely defining the rules and standards for performance, we not only motivate unprecedented output but derive both relative and absolute metrics at every workout.
