Tonya’s path to coaching has been a natural progression. She started CrossFitting in February of 2011 and became hooked! She liked that she was able to satisfy endurance training with weightlifting and body-weight calisthenics in just one hour. Up until this point, she had a hard time finding time for all of it. As her love of fitness grew, she knew she wanted to start training others. According to her, “Working with people, and showing them what they are capable of, is an addiction for me. I love seeing their reaction when they do something they thought they couldn’t do. It’s beyond rewarding.”
She was a stay-at-home-mom prior to coming to XLR8 Athletix, which led to her next CrossFit endeavor, CrossFit Kids. “Watching my kids…and every other kid, for that matter…enjoy being at the gym made my decision to specialize in CrossFit Kids. In their minds, they are “playing.” What I see is kids learning that moving and exercise can be fun. We need to foster this attitude at a young age so movement and activity becomes a natural part of their lives.” She started our CrossFit Kids program in early 2013. There are two primary goals of this program. First, teaching kids that exercise is fun. Second, is helping kids realize what they are capable of both physically and mentally. This is something that will translate to all aspects of their life - academically, socially, and in extracurricular activities.

As a lifelong athlete, Coach Lynn's strong interest and passion for health and fitness drove her to become a personal trainer/coach. She has continued on that path with CrossFit, has competed as a Regional Team member (2013, 2014, 2015) and was an Individual Regional Qualifier (2014).
Lynn fell in love with CrossFit because it encompasses everything she believes in training-wise: constantly varied (keeps the body guessing and workouts fun), functional movement (training the body as it is designed to move in daily life), at high intensity (if it isn’t challenging you, it isn’t changing you). And she quickly became addicted to the great community, competitive spirit, and team environment at XLR8 Athletix. As a coach and trainer, Lynn’s focus is to help you achieve your fitness goals with challenging and effective full-body workouts. She enjoys motivating others and knows just how far to push you. In her personal life, Lynn is always up for trying new things and loves traveling.
